The “Forest Hands” were inspired by a doodle I created while interning at the United Nations Environmental Program.   Working with international communities trying to find solutions to deforestation and land degradation was a fascinating but devastating subject that left me feeling furious at the misuse of our resources. During one of my lunch hours, I remember  doodled a photo of mother nature giving us a big middle finger. The image is meant to show a personification of a tree being cut down by an ant (a metaphor for human beings), while the veins of the hand acted as the roots of the trees....

This is by far one of the coolest things I have been a part of since moving to Victoria. This project came to life in less than 3 weeks, I am blown away. It's a pre-demolition house turned pop-up experimental art exhibition, all themed around climate anxiety. Over 30 local artists of all kinds, and I AM ONE OF THEM! It was truly an honor to be asked back to Bass Coast Music Festival for the third year in a row!  As you may have picked up by now, I love to incorporate repurposed materials into my artwork. I also love that Bass Coast always prioritizes the environment, and makes it a requirement to try and use sustainable methods of installation and use of materials.
